Public Schools' Fencing Championships 2026
The Senior boys' team had a gruelling first day of fencing at the Public Schools’ Fencing Championships held at Lee Valley Athletics Stadium. The Juniors fenced Épée with Archie W finishing 38th and Arun N finishing 89th. In the Senior Boys’ Foil, Ronny L earned the best result of the day, finishing a fabulous 5th place, with George A in 19th and Jasper P in 59th.
Day 2 at the Fencing Championships and the boys’ team were joined by Xenia G (Year 7). It was great to see the camaraderie between all our fencers and their friends from other schools but, in particular, the advice and encouragement they gave to the youngest member of our team. This is Bromsgrovians at their best.
Xenia finished a brilliant 8th in the Mount Hayes Epee - a fantastic achievement. But the fight of the day was George’s who, in an epic 22-minute battle, lost in the last minute of extra time which placed him 18th out of 123 senior boys. Jasper finished in 34th and Archie and Arun came in 68th and 78th respectively in the junior competition. Two days of amazing fencing with much being learned.
